Basics of a Part 58 Review

HUD Environmental Review

Before work begins on a post-disaster recovery project funded by the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program, grantees must perform an environmental review to evaluate the impact of the project on the environment, and vice versa. The review, which must be in accordance with 24 CFR part 58 requirements, provides documentation to prove that no harm is done to either the environment or the project.

This HUD presentation provides a basic overview of part 58 environmental review requirements, forms and terms to help CDBG-DR grantees familiarize themselves with the process and identify additional resources for information and assistance.
